Back to Project
The evolution of the house design has taken many exploratory twists and turns. Many models were presented and many ideas were conceived. At one point, we thought a specific design was cooking. Then during a presentation, the client presented us with a strange but interesting set of photographs.
The photos showed a Merit cigarette pack house. . . literally. With a clever use of orange post-its to represent a sloped roof, they asked us to look at a more domesticated, less monumental look to their house without sacrificing the more modern interior.
From there, the project took a quick turn and has never looked back. In the process, we have become the GC and as of the the summer of '09, we are completing the second floor slab.
With a truly generous client and a shared attitude towards sustainability practices and an understanding of quality detailing and construction, this is a valuable project experience we are closely observing and managing, but more importantly, enjoying.
Thank you, V&C.
